Rockers Campaign For Armenian Justice

SYSTEM OF A DOWN bandmates SERJ TANKIAN and JOHN DOLMAYAN marched in Washington DC last week (24APR06), calling on the Turkish government to acknowledge the Armenian Genocide. The pair, both born in Lebanon of Armenian descent, joined the Armenian National Committee and the Armenian Youth Federation at the Rally For Justice, part of a three-day tour. Tankian and Dolmayan have long campaigned for Turkey to end its denial of the atrocities committed on the Armenians in the Ottoman Empire during World War One. They were also honoured last Wednesday for their pursuit of justice at the annual Armenian Genocide observance on Capital Hill in the US capital.
