Roberts And Lavigne Honoured At Much Music Awards

Canada honoured native singers SAM ROBERTS and AVRIL LAVIGNE at the annual MUCH MUSIC AWARDS on Sunday night (20JUN04).

The SK8TER BOI singer, 19, was named the Favourite Canadian Artist by a public vote at the Toronto-based ceremony, while Roberts took home three gongs for video HARD ROAD.

Other winners included NELLY FURTADO, who won Best Pop Video, SARAH McLACHLAN, who won the Much More Music gong for her FALLEN promo, and OUTKAST, who were handed the Best International Video award.

Performers on the big night included FEFE DOBSON, KANYE WEST, EVANESCENCE and special guests THE BEASTIE BOYS.
