Robbie Williams: Ecstasy Caused My Depression

Troubled pop hunk ROBBIE WILLIAMS has blamed his well-publicised depression on taking too many ecstasy tablets.

The ROCK DJ hero made his admission on Britain's RADIO 1 station to DJ SARA COX, adding he needs a great deal of time off in order to maintain his grip on reality.

Robbie confides, "(I took) too much ecstasy to tell you the truth. When you take E your brain releases an awful amount of serotonin and it makes you go 'Great'. Use it all up and your brain's got nothing to bathe in.

"Depression isn't about anything, not about woe is me, my life is this, that and the other. It's like having the worst flu all day that you just can't kick. It's not about situations, places or things - it's about a chemical thing in your body."
