Rivers' Televised Plastic Surgery

Comedienne Joan Rivers is to go under the knife again - this time as a guest star in plastic surgery drama NIP/TUCK.

Rivers will play herself in the TV show's season finale, which airs in America tomorrow night (06OCT04), and the only clues she'll give about the eagerly-awaited episode is that it co-stars Alec Baldwin and that her character asks doctors to unstitch a sagging part of her body.

Rivers explains, "I just pretend it's not me. If you start to play yourself, you second-guess yourself and you'll really look like a fool."

"I loved the premise. I thought the premise was hilarious."
