Rivers Apologises For Harsh Bowles Remarks
Joan Rivers is amazed she's developed such a close friendship with British royal Prince Charles' new wife Camilla Parker Bowles, because she used to viciously mock her appearance.
The outspoken US comedienne regrets the cutting remarks she made about the DUCHESS OF CORNWALL, because she now realises the harsh treatment she's received in the UK media has been completely uncalled for.
Bowles has been dogged by personal insults since rumours surfaced of her affair with Charles while he was married to the late DIANA, PRINCESS OF WALES at the time.
And Rivers admits she often questions how Bowles managed to forgive her - and become such a great pal.
She says, "I used to say she was so ugly she had to frisk herself at airports. But now we are the best of friends. Who can believe it?"
Rivers bought Bowles some sexy lingerie for her wedding gift - upon the Duchess' request.
