Reverend Run's Longrunning Injury
RUN-DMC star REVEREND RUN has endured decades of neck pains, after his older brother RUSSELL SIMMONS kicked a chair at him during a drug-fuelled fight.
The 48-year-old hip-hop veteran, real name JOSEPH SIMMONS, says that while he and his rap mogul brother frequently argue, their anger only turned to violence once - and he's suffered the side effects ever since.
The RUN'S HOUSE rapper tells FHM, "My brother and I fight all the time: when we were kids, yesterday, every minute. The other day he told me he wanted to punch me in my hat.
"He's seven years older than me and he was really into karate when we were younger. He taught himself to be like BRUCE LEE. He was really good at kicking, so he'd kick things all the time.
"I never fought him - except once when I was 14 and he was 21. We had smoked a lot of weed and were really high. It's been so many years, I can't remember why, but I got very mad at him.
"I was screaming and running around and I threw a chair at him. He kicked it and - poof! - it flew back and hit me in the back of the neck. Ever since then, my neck hurts every winter."
