Restored John Wayne Films To Hit Tv As Part Of Us Marathon

Classic westerns JOHN WAYNE's son MICHAEL saved from a watery grave and restored are to hit US TV later this month (JUL05) as part of a three-day tribute to the movie legend.

The late Michael Wayne rescued the masters of his father's films from flooded vaults eight years ago (97) and spent the rest of his life repairing the damage.

When Michael died, his widow GRETCHEN completed the work.

His efforts can be seen on 16 -18 July (05) when cable network American Movie Classics show a series of Wayne's rare and classic movies as part of a tribute marathon.

And many of the restored films will be released on DVD later this year (05).
