Redgrave's Condition Improving
LATEST: Veteran British actor CORIN REDGRAVE's critical condition is continuing to improve after he collapsed from a heart attack at a political meeting last week (08JUN05).
The 65-year-old theatre stalwart-turned-political campaigner was protesting on behalf of controversial travellers in Basildon, Essex when he was struck down with the coronary attack.
The FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL star - who has also been receiving treatment for cancer at the Royal Marsden hospital in London - was rushed to Basildon Hospital after paramedics restarted his heart at the scene.
He remains in the hospital's intensive care unit, but doctors are pleased with the way his condition is improving.
A spokeswoman for Basildon Hospital says, "There have been further signs of improvement... (Doctors) are pleased with his progress."
The son of acting legend SIR MICHAEL REDGRAVE is renowned for his impassioned political activism and has long been a champion of human rights - most recently for terror suspects being held by US authorities at Guantanamo Bay.12/06/2005 10:42
