Red Skelton Remembered

Beloved US actor RED SKELTON has been honoured in his hometown of Vincennes, Indiana with his own theatre. The movie star and TV and radio favourite, who died in 1997, was remembered by an army of clowns and circus performers, who helped launch the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center at Vincennes University on Saturday (10JUN06). Skelton's widow LOTHIAN, who was present at the honour ceremony, said, "He loved the theatre. It was his living room." Skelton was a favourite among circus performers - his father was a clown and the actor started his career in the circus.
