Ray Charles Studio Open For One Day Only

RAY CHARLES' legendary Los Angeles recording studio is to pen its doors to the public for one day only - to coincide with the release of the soul great's final album on 31 August (04).

Fans will be able to look around the RPM International recording studios on that day - and pick up a copy of Charles' duets album, GENIUS LOVES COMPANY.

The studios were designed and built more than four decades ago by Charles and his longtime manager and business partner JOE ADAMS.

During the construction, Adams guided the blind musician through the building to demonstrate the progress being made.

Meanwhile, Genius Loves Company is a collection of duets featuring a wide variety of vocalists, including WILLIE NELSON, JAMES TAYLOR and ELTON JOHN.
