Ray Charles Remembered At Cmas

Soul great RAY CHARLES was remembered at the COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION AWARDS in New York last night (09NOV04) with a heartfelt tribute from co-host KIX BROOKS.

The country singer credited the late Charles as a man who grew up listening to country music and then broke down barriers with his 1962 album MODERN SOUNDS IN COUNTRY + WESTERN MUSIC.

Brooks added, "He really was one soulful country singer. Bless you, Ray Charles."
