Rapper Cool C Granted Stay Of Execution
LATEST: Former THE HILLTOP HUSTLERS star CHRISTOPHER 'COOL C' RONEY's execution will be postponed until his post-conviction litigation is resolved, a Pennsylvania judge has ruled.
GARY GLAZER ordered the stay of execution last Wednesday (01FEB06), AllHipHop.com reports. It comes just weeks after the rapper's death warrant was signed, which condemned him to a lethal injection on 9 March (06).
Roney, 36, was found guilty in October 1996 of the first-degree murder of a Philadelphia police officer during a failed bank heist.
While his accomplice and rap sidekick WARREN 'STEADY B' McGLONE was sentenced to life imprisonment, Roney received a death sentence for pulling the trigger.
The GLAMOROUS LIFE hitmaker is currently behind bars at Pennsylvania's State Correctional Institution at Greene.
