Radiohead Turned Down Live 8

Acclaimed rockers RADIOHEAD have turned down the chance to perform at the London LIVE 8 concert on 2 July (05), because they are busy enjoying their time away from the music business.

Despite being a prominent campaigner for Third World issues, singer THOM YORKE insists the CREEP hitmakers are too "spread out" to join COLDPLAY, SIR PAUL McCARTNEY and U2 on the star-studded charity bill.

Guitarist JONNY GREENWOOD's wife recently gave birth and he is more concerned with concentrating his family than performing in front of 150,000 fans in the British capital's Hyde Park.

The band's spokesman MURRAY CHALMERS says, "They were asked but they can't do it. Jonny is out of action because he and his wife have just had a baby and the rest of the band are spread out all over the place at that time."

In April (05), Yorke joined an all-night protest held in London's Westminster Abbey organised by TRADE JUSTICE to highlight the plight of the world's poorest workers.
