Queen Pens Diana's Memorial
Britain's QUEEN ELIZABETH II has paid a special tribute to the late DIANA, PRINCESS OF WALES during the opening of her memorial fountain in London's Hyde Park - which she personally penned herself.
While the Queen speeches are usually written with her private secretaries - the monarch insisted on writing the personal speech she gave earlier today (06JUL04) at the unveiling of a special landmark to remember the Princess who died in 1997.
A Palace source said, "It is very, very personal to her and she didn't entrust anyone else to write it.
"She didn't think anyone else should write it because she saw it as her personal duty."
PRINCEs WILLIAM, HARRY and CHARLES attended the ceremony of the $6.48 million (GBP3.5 million) oval fountain.06/07/2004 13:55
