Queen 'Bans Parker Bowles From Royal Banquet'
British royal QUEEN ELIZABETH II banned her son PRINCE CHARLES' fiancee CAMILLA PARKER BOWLES from attending two prestigious banquets at her London residence, Buckingham Palace this week (begs14MAR05).
The Queen refused to invite Parker Bowles to royal feasts for Italian President CARLO CIAMPI on Tuesday (15MAR05) and Wednesday (16MAR05), fuelling speculation she has not accepted Parker Bowles into the royal family, reports British newspaper THE SUN.
In contrast, the monarch invited DIANA, PRINCESS OF WALES to a state banquet for the King of Saudi Arabia before Diana was married to Charles.
A Palace source says, "There is no real reason why Camilla could not have attended. She is the Prince of Wales' fiancee and as such, it would be natural for her to be included.
"The fact she wasn't is evidence she is still held in petty contempt by senior royals.
But a spokesperson for Parker Bowles insists she did not attend the meals because she had other commitments.17/03/2005 03:03
