Producer Capone Leads Latin Grammys Charge

Producer TOM CAPONE looks set to be the big winner at this year's LATIN Grammy Awards in September (04) after landing five nominations yesterday (14JUL04).

Capone leads the nominees for the awards, while Bebo Valdez, ALVARO ALENCAR, Maria Rita and Alejandro Sanz boast four nominations each.

Capone is up for Producer of The Year and Album of The Year, among other awards for Maria Rita's eponymous debut album.

He will also compete for the coveted Record of The Year prize for Rita's A FESTA and SKANK's DOIS RIOS - in which he'll compete with Robi Draco Rosa (MAS Y MAS), Sanz (NO ES LO MISMO), Valdes and DIEGO EL CIGALA (LAGRIMAS NEGRAS) and JULIETA VENEGAS (ANDAR CONMIGO).
