Prince To Open Hong Kong Festival

PRINCE, CRAIG DAVID, WESTLIFE and CARLOS SANTANA are set to perform at a series for benefit shows for Hong Kong following its battle with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).

Prince will perform at the opening of the concert series HONG KONG HARBOUR FEST on 17 October (03).

The ROLLING STONES, JOSE CARRERAS, Taiwanese pop sensation JAY CHOU and boy band F4 are also set to perform at the festival, which will run until 9 November (03).

Officials say the festival will help Hong Kong recover from the impact of this year's SARS crisis, which killed 299 people in the territory and devastated the economy.

The Rolling Stones had been scheduled to play in Hong Kong in March, but their two shows were cancelled as the crisis unfolded.
