Prince Harry To Join Welsh Guards
British royal PRINCE HARRY is to follow in the footsteps of his father PRINCE CHARLES and his grandfather PRINCE PHILLIP by joining the British Army's Welsh Guard regiment.
The 20-year-old has already met with the unit's commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel BEN BATHURST and spoken to his former nanny's husband, HARRY LEGGE-BURKE, about what to expect from life in the armed forces.
Joining the Welsh Guards means Harry will have to speak Welsh, know the Welsh national anthem and study the regiment's 89 year history.
He would start after training at Britain's elite military training school, Sandhurst, although he must first pass the school's rigorous entrance exams.20/09/2004 14:06
