Primal Scream Frontman Rejects Nazi Tag

PRIMAL SCREAM singer BOBBY GILLESPIE has laughed off accusations he has Right-wing sympathies. The SWASTIKA EYES frontman appeared to give a Nazi salute to the audience at England's Glastonbury Festival last year (05), shortly before the band were removed from the stage by security following an extended and shambolic performance. But Gillespie insists his actions were misunderstood, and is keen to point out his past support for good causes. He says, "Did I give a Nazi salute? I don't know, you tell me! "If you look at the things we've done in the past like benefits for Satpal Ram (Englishman jailed for life after defending himself against a racist attack), the Liverpool dockers, the Palestine refugee children, you'll know what my politics are. I'm no f**kin' Nazi." He adds, "We needed throwing off otherwise we'd still be there now!"
