Portman Courts Controversy
CLOSER star Natalie Portman wants her new film to provoke controversy and make people re-examine their views on terrorism.
The actress shaved her head for her role in V For Vendetta, which focuses on a terrorist plot to blow up London's Houses Of Parliament.
Portman takes the movie's subject matter seriously and hopes its political storyline becomes a common talking point.
She explains, "It's about a totalitarian government, but I also hope that it shifts your window on defining terrorism.
"No one would have said that is was wrong to blow up a building that Hitler was in, for example. People would have hailed that person as a hero."
She adds, "It (the film) was amazingly fun to film, but I also hope that it's the kind of movie you can go home and fight about with your friends."
