Pistol Crowned King Of Punk

Former SEX PISTOLS frontman JOHN LYDON has been voted the "most punk" person of all time.

The flame-haired PRETTY VACANT rocker, famously known as JOHNNY ROTTEN during the 1970s punk era because of his decaying teeth, topped last night's (16JUN05) BBC RADIO 1 MOST PUNK poll, compiled by music moguls including producer ALAN McGEE.

The survey aimed to capture the spirit of the genre, by featuring classic punk figureheads like THE CLASH's late JOE STRUMMER and deceased DJ JOHN PEEL, as well as controversial hip-hop star EMINEM and KLF dance impresario BILL DRUMMOND.
