Pinkett Smith Places Family Above Movie Career
JADA PINKETT SMITH has hit out at parents who consider their career more important than the welfare of their children.
The MADAGASCAR actress is appalled people were shocked at her decision to leave 2002's ACADEMY AWARD ceremony early despite husband WILL SMITH's Best Actor nomination for ALI - due to her now-four-year-old daughter WILLOW's high fever.
Pinkett, 34, says, "Will and I really try to stay connected to our priorities, which are one another and our families.
"People said, 'Oh my God, you left the Oscars. Wasn't that hard?'
"Nope. My baby girl had a temperature of 103 degrees.
"I couldn't believe people would question our making a choice between a statuette and our child. Are you kidding me?"26/06/2005 09:30
