Pink Floyd Star Requests New Israeli Venue

LATEST: PINK FLOYD rocker ROGER WATERS has requested that his upcoming Tel Aviv, Israel, gig be moved to a joint Jewish-Arab community after pressure from Palestinian political activists. The COMFORTABLY NUMB hitmaker will now stage his June (06) concert in a chickpea field at Neve Shalom instead of its original city park venue, according to local press. A report on Channel 2 TV shows the mayor of Neve Shalom, RAYAK RIZIK, walking through the field and welcoming Waters' change of heart. It speculates 50,000 people will be in attendance at the gig. The bassist has publicly lent his support to a pro-Palestinian movement urging removal of a barrier Israel is building along the West Bank and, since announcing he was to play Tel Aviv, has been under sustained pressure from Palestinian activists to boycott the venue. However, he previously maintained, "I am happy to play to anybody who believes in peace. I don't discriminate between any of my fans, wherever they live. Being an Israeli does not disbar from being a human being."

What color is the sky in your world. Most of what has been said about PALESTINIANS is RIGHT ON! This is not a religious thing and I don't think that all muslims are terrorist radicals. Using the Koran or any other book to justify what they are teaching children in Palestine is what makes me sick. It is rampant in poor third world muslim countries and there is a difference between racism/prejudice and radical ideology. As an American with hispanic immigrants, I know racism. 	It’s amusing to read all the racist and prejudiced comments posted by these idiots. Roger Waters is not ignorant like most of these morons who have posted here. They think all Arabs and Muslims are terrorists who have never heard of pink Floyd. I am a Muslim and I have recently been to the David Gilmour concert here in Toronto. Yeah u idiots… Muslims like pink Floyd and Muslims like music. Besides, Waters is in Israel to promote peace and harmony among the Jews and Arabs…He plans to raise awareness against the Israelis who plan to build the WALL…same Israelis who bomb women and children with their f 16s…if these morons have paid attention to Water’s lyrics this is exactly what he has said in his songs (Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, The Final Cut, Amused to Death)….I like most sane minded people support Roger Waters actions and I feel he is doing the right think… Roger Waters ROCK!
