Phoenix's Oprah Nerves

Joaquin Phoenix was so nervous about promoting new movie Walk the Line on the OPRAH WINFREY SHOW, the talk show queen had to coax him onto the stage.

The actor - who plays Johnny Cash in the new biopic - tried to back out of the chat, because he feared vomitting on TV.

Oprah, who is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the show, tells US TV show Extra, "Nervous is not the word. He was a wreck. I've never seen nervous like that before.

"I had to go in the green room, and literally said to him, 'You don't have to put yourself through this.' He said, 'I think I'm going to throw up.'"

Oh, I really feel for Joaquin. I just LOVE him, nerves and all. He is such a spectacular actor and person; I just hate to see him having to suffer this way. Being the same type of person, I can totally understand what was going on in his stomach. Hopefully, since there is already so much exposure on this movie, and the chatter of "Oscar" for him, that he will calm down and enjoy "the ride." Imagine if he wins, he'll have to bring a bowl with him on stage to accept. He should not fret. Should such a thing happen, I think it would be a first for the Oscar acceptance speeches and will be played for decades to come at Oscar time. I can't wait to see the movie. Does anyone know if his bit on Oprah has already been aired? Did I miss it? Curses! Let me know.PhylMagri@aol.com
