Phish Fear They Split Too Soon

The members of cult rockers PHISH are beginning to regret their split last year (04), prompting fans to believe a reunion might not be too far away.

The American group was split over the decision anyway and after picking up JAMMY AWARDs for Best DVD of The Year and Best Tour of 2004 in New York on Tuesday (26APR05), bass player MIKE GORDON revealed his former group may still have a future.

In claiming the honours, Gordon said, "This proves my theory that we probably had a few more decades in us."

Hosted by former GRATEFUL DEAD bassist PHIL LESH at Madison Square Garden, the awards show featured live performances by MAVIS STAPLES, HUEY LEWIS and SINEAD O'CONNOR, who was making her live comeback after announcing her retirement in 2003.

The Irish singer, who turned her back on music to follow a religious calling, landed the night's highlight when she teamed up with reggae great BURNING SPEAR for a medley of his hits like DOOR PEEP and MARCUS GARVEY.

The full list of Jammy winners, given to outstanding performances in alternative, independent and improvised music, is:
