Petty Cancels Tickets To Tackle Touts
US rocker TOM PETTY has cancelled almost 500 concert tickets issued to fan club members, after they were resold for a higher price online. The REFUGEE hitmaker's management and Ticketmaster took the decision because they feared touts had specifically joined Petty's fan club in a bid to obtain tickets and then sell them for profit. Manager TONY DIMITRIADES says, "We don't claim to have completely eliminated all reselling activity on these or any other shows. "But this is definitely a step in the right direction and a major strike on behalf of the good guys." Petty will be supported by PEARL JAM at his gigs in St Paul, Minnesota, on 26 and 27 June (06).
