Peters Leaves The Stage Once More With Illness
Actress BERNADETTE PETERS skipped the Saturday (10MAY03) matinee of the Broadway revival of GYPSY - having only returned Friday (09MAY03) after missing five performances due to illness.
Peters' spokesman ADRIAN BRYAN-BROWN says that although she's still recovering from a respiratory infection, she planned to return to the stage on Saturday night. Peters' understudy MAUREEN MOORE went performed at the Saturday matinee.
The ANNIE star returned for one performance on Friday night, but some audience members of the play, directed by KATE WINSLET's beau SAM MENDES, noted that the actress still sounded slightly hoarse.12/05/2003 09:17
