Owen Puts Family First

British actor Clive Owen is determined to be a perfect father to his children - because he knows how devastating an unstable childhood can be.

The CLOSER star's own dad abandoned his family when Owen was just three, and this heartbreaking experience has ensured the 40-year-old will always be there for his two young daughters, Hannah and Eve.

He says, "It's important to me to be a very present father, because mine wasn't around.

"I didn't want that to happen to me when I had children."

But even though he balances the roles of movie star and family man with apparent ease, Owen admits it's not so easy for his actress wife SARAH-JANE FENTON to return to her career.

He says, "We'd work it out, though it's very difficult to take eight years off as an actress and come back."
