Owen Helps Speed Up Crash Victim's Recovery
Hunky OWEN WILSON is being hailed a hero by an American TV star after leaving a morale-boosting message on her answer machine.
Wilson heard daytime soap actress CHANTAL ABBEY was a huge fan and decided to help lift her spirits while she recovered from a car crash last summer (02).
Abbey, 26, who plays CHANTEL LEBASQUE in THE YOUNG + THE RESTLESS, punctured her lung and broke her wrist and elbow in the smash and had to be cut, unconscious, out of her Volvo.
She fell into a coma at the hospital and became a wreck upon her release - until she heard her hero's phone message.
She says, "He said, 'Hi, I thought I'd call and say how are you? I hope you're doing well.' I still have it. I haven't erased it."
Abbey, who has returned to the set of The Young + The Restless, is expected to make a full recovery.06/06/2003 19:20
