Ono Says Sorry
LATEST: JOHN LENNON's widow YOKO ONO has publicly apologised to her late husband's BEATLES bandmate SIR PAUL McCARTNEY - for criticising his songwriting skills.
Ono caused controversy recently when she accepted an award on behalf of Lennon and told the press in attendance that the late rock icon often wondered why McCartney's songs were so popular, and were covered more than his.
Ono told her insecure husband that he was truly talented and that his songwriting efforts were not "June with spoon," suggesting McCartney's lyrics were simple.
But, in the latest issue of rock magazine Rolling Stone, Ono apologises for her insensitive remark.
She says, "I certainly did not mean to hurt Paul, and, if I did, I am very sorry."
