Oasis Land Seventh Number 1

English rockers OASIS are celebrating after they claimed their seventh UK number one with their latest single LYLA.

The first track from their forthcoming album DON'T BELIEVE THE TRUTH, which hits stores next week (30MAY05), went straight to the top spot in the singles charts on Sunday (22MAY05), knocking AKON's two-week reign with LONELY.

BLACK EYED PEAS entered at three with DON'T PHUNK WITH MY HEART, while JENNIFER LOPEZ's duet with FAT JOE, HOLD YOU DOWN only managed to land a number six position, despite hitting number one with her previous single GET RIGHT.

Meanwhile in the UK album charts, dance act FAITHLESS went straight to the top spot with their disc FOREVER FAITHLESS - THE GREATEST HITS, beating other new entries from SYSTEM OF A DOWN and VAN MORRISON, whose albums landed at numbers two and three respectively.
