O'Donnell Returns To Acting
Former chat show host ROSIE O'DONNELL is set to return to acting after a six year hiatus - by starring in a new television movie.
The lesbian star, who recently 'wed' her long-term girlfriend KELLI CARPENTER in San Francisco, has reportedly signed on to play a mentally challenged woman in the TV adaptation of RACHEL SIMON's book RIDING THE BUS WITH MY SISTER.
The 2002 book was written by Simon about her life with her retarded sister Beth.
O'Donnell's previous acting credits include Sleepless In Seattle, A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN and The Flintstones.
O'Donnell's last big screen outing was playing a nun in The Sixth Sense creator M Night Shyamalan's comedy Wide Awake in 1998.
