No Mix Up As Strait Retains Top Spot

Country star GEORGE STRAIT's new album has scored a second week at the top of the American album charts after a mix up had him at number two for a day last week (ends15OCT04).

A statistical error put USHER's re-released CONFESSIONS at the top of the charts a week ago (13OCT04), but Strait's 50 NUMBER ONES took its proper place at number one within hours.

And, with a second week of 190,000 copies sold, Strait held off challenges from Usher, NELLY and CELINE DION's new album/photo book MIRACLE, which enters the chart at number four.

Elsewhere in the new top 10, rapper/actor MOS DEF has scored his highest Billboard 200 position ever with THE NEW DANGER, which debuts at five, and pop punks SUM 41 enter the chart at number 10 with CHUCK - the album they've dedicated to the UNITED NATIONS charity worker who saved their lives in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Canadian group were there filming a documentary when a peace accord in the war-torn country was broken by rebels.
