Newton Slams Chronicles Of Riddick
British actress THANDIE NEWTON only starred in box-office flop THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK so she could fund her husband OLIVER PARKER's screen-writing career.
The 32-year-old - who starred alongside Hollywood hardman VIN DIESEL in last year's (04) sci-fi thriller - has since slammed the movie as "stupid" and regrets lowering herself for the role.
She says, "I made this stupid film so we could make enough to let Ol get on with his writing.
"The result is a wonderful script called CLICK which he has now directed.
"He has made a brilliant film, like LOST IN TRANSLATION, that does not fit into any category."
Parker's movie, which has been filmed around various London locations, has been scooped up by movies makers Fox Searchlight.24/07/2005 09:25
