New York Dolls Bassist Dies

New York Dolls bassist ARTHUR KANE died on Tuesday (13JUL04) after battling leukaemia. He was 55.

The punk rocker passed away in Los Angeles, following complications from the cancer, only four weeks after performing at Morrissey's MELTDOWN FESTIVAL in London on 16 June (04).

The Babylon group are scheduled to perform next month (AUG04) at LITTLE STEVEN's INTERNATIONAL UNDERGROUND GARAGE FESTIVAL in New York, although it is unknown if the gig will go ahead.

Kane is the fourth member of the pioneering band to pass away - guitarist Johnny Thunders died of a drug overdose in 1991.
