New Order To Headline John Peel Tribute Concert

Veteran rockers NEW ORDER will headline a concert in honour of late British radio DJ JOHN PEEL next month (05).

THE FALL, SUPER FURRY ANIMALS and LAURA CANTRELL will also be performing at the show at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall on 12 October (05).

The tribute gig will also feature performances by JAWBONE, MISTY IN ROOTS and VENETIAN SNARES. It will be hosted by BBC Radio 1, the station Peel worked at for over 35 years, and will precede John Peel Day on 13 October (05).

Peel's widow, SHEILA RAVENSCROFT, says she is "looking forward to what should be a terrific night".

Peel, real name John Ravenscroft, died in October 2004 from a heart attack, while on holiday in Peru.
