Mumba's Spider Fright

Samantha Mumba was so scared of damaging the $9 million (GBP5 million) dress she wore at last night's (12JUL04) SPIDER-MAN 2 premiere in London, she changed out of it for the aftershow party.

The Irish stunner shocked crowds in the capital's Leicester Square when she stepped onto the red carpet wearing the frock which was adorned with a web of thousands of diamonds, designed by Scott Henshall and worth a staggering $9 million.

But she confesses she slipped straight into a little black dress for the aftershow festivities - for fear of damaging or losing one of the gems.

She says, "It's really comfortable actually. I loved wearing the diamond dress but I was worried about one of them falling off so I got changed."
