Coldplay can't fail to break into America according to former SMITHS rocker Morrissey.

The THERE IS A LIGHT THAT NEVER GOES OUT singer believes that the group have been so well promoted that even though he doesn't enjoy their music, they will conquer the American charts.

He says, "I envy the way they've been promoted because I never experienced that. With Coldplay if you fail with that amount of promotion you must be pretty atrocious."

Morrissey adds that he feels Radiohead and COLDPLAY are too miserable - even for him.

He adds, "I don't understand why I have the monopoly on the word miserable. Both of those bands sound very unhappy, with not a sign of a witty lyric."
