Singer MORRISSEY was quizzed by the FBI and British intelligence after speaking out against the American and British governments.
The Brit is a famous critic of the US-led war in Iraq and has dubbed President GEORGE W BUSH a "terrorist" - but he was baffled to be hauled in by authorities.
Morrissey explains, "The FBI and the Special Branch have investigated me and I've been interviewed and taped and so forth.
"They were trying to determine if I was a threat to the government, and similarly in England. But it didn't take them very long to realise that I'm not.
"I don't belong to any political groups, I don't really say anything unless I'm asked directly and I don't even demonstrate in public. I always assume that so-called authoritarian figures just assume that pop/rock music is slightly insane and an untouchable platform for the working classes to stand up and say something noticeable.
"My view is that neither England or America are democratic societies. You can't really speak your mind and if you do you're investigated."

| it was pretty clear to me a song about the situation in palstine. the sad situation of the occupied youth. referneces to Allah's gift of eternal life to the young men, who like roses, conduct martyrdom operartions against an occupation. violence is ugly. it breaks my heart. morrissey is here to mend our hearts, perhaps, or simply awaken them. when i heard about the national front getting into moz, i laughed it off.... but now i see are all here instead of shoving little girls out of the front row at the concerts. don;t worry.. one day the "democracies" will come for you. like in bosnia, and many other places people though t they were free. remember.. all the land we are on was once natice american, or welsh, etc. patriotism is a poor excuse for reason, and blind obedience is just that. kudos moz. i salute you as i always have. -an american muslim | ||

| Having heard Morrissey spereading nationalist hateread at the concert I don't think he's intitled to be spared from investigation if any kind... Music as mass media is far too powerful for guffs - or deliberate spread of a single person's twisted mind thoughts. I'm glad he won't ever come to play this festival (EXIT) again. | ||
