Modest Mouse And Coheed + Cambria Win Big At New College Awards

Campus favourites MODEST MOUSE and COHEED + CAMBRIA were the big winners at the inaugural mtvU WOODIE AWARDS (corr), announced on the internet yesterday (03NOV04).

Heavy rockers Coheed + Cambria picked up the Soundtrack of My Life Woodie for Best Album (IN KEEPING SECRETS OF SILENT EARTH 3) and Road Woodie for Best Live Performance.

And Modest Mouse claimed Woodie of the Year for Best Artist Award and the Silent But Deadly Woodie for Best Music Video (FLOAT ON).

The winners were determined through American students voting online and by telephone.

An offshoot of MTV, mtvU is a network broadcasting to college campuses throughout America.

Woodie of The Year (Artist of The Year): FLOAT ON - MODEST MOUSE

Soundtrack of My Life Woodie (Best Album): IN KEEPING SECRETS OF SILENT EARTH 3 - COHEED + CAMBRIA

The Breaking Woodie (Best Emerging Artist): THE KILLERS

The Good Woodie (Greatest Social Impact): SUM 41

Left Field Woodie (Most Original Artist): N*E*R*D

The Sophomore Jump Woodie (Best Second Album): A DECADE UNDER THE INFLUENCE - TAKING BACK SUNDAY

The Welcome Back Woodie (Artist Who Has Achieved Mainstream Success, But Still Remains Popular on Campus): INCUBUS

The Silent But Deadly Woodie (Best Video): FLOAT ON - MODEST MOUSE

The Road Woodie (Best Live Performance): COHEED + CAMBRIA.
