Modern Stars Cover Eighties Classics

SEAL, UB40 and BLACK EYED PEAS have signed up to recreate classic 1980s pop tunes for ADAM SANDLER and DREW BARRYMORE's new movie 50 FIRST DATES.

The two acts are among those who will cover songs by ECHO + THE BUNNYMEN, THE CURE and SPANDAU BALLET for the soundtrack of the movie.

UB40 will release a cover of THE POLICE's EVERY BREATH YOU TAKE as the first single from the project.

Among the other covers confirmed are ZIGGY MARLEY's take on THE CARS' LIVE AID anthem DRIVE, PSYCHEDELIC FURS' GHOST IN YOU by SUGAR RAY's MARK McGRATH, and BLACK EYED PEAS' recreation of TRUE by SPANDAU BALLET.
