Mis-Teeq's Fears As Record Label Goes Bust
British R+B girl band MIS-TEEQ are concerned about their future - after their record label TELSTAR fell into administration earlier this week (begs05APR04).
The CAN'T GET IT BACK band are currently signed to the same label that spent a staggering $2.16 million (GBP1.2 million) developing former SPICE GIRL VICTORIA BECKHAM's solo career - and is thought to be struggling with debts of around $15.3 million (GBP8.5 million).
But the singing trio have been inundated with offers.
An industry insider explains, "Mis-Teeq are one of the hottest girl bands in Britain at the moment.
"They have got a unique sound and have had a string of top ten hits, so most big labels would jump at the chance to sign them up - and several have already expressed an interest."
The record label also handles soul star CRAIG DAVID and Swedish rockers THE HIVES.
The source adds, "It's early days, but I gather there are already some offers on the table."08/04/2004 14:50
