Mills 'Highly Delighted' By Honorary Statue23 June 2004
OSCAR-winning veteran SIR JOHN MILLS is "highly delighted" about plans to erect a statue of him in Felixstowe, his British home town.
The 96-year-old - who has starred in more than 100 films - only discovered the news when a British newspaper phoned to congratulate him.
Mills's personal assistant gushes, "It's a great honour but he knew nothing about it. We can't wait to hear more about it."
Former Felixstowe mayor MALCOLM MINNS explains, "I have been thinking about it for some time. We don't honour local people who have done excellent things. We should celebrate them and a statue is one way of doing that."
