Mendes' Play Flops After Two Weeks
American director Sam Mendes is devastated that his first London play - since his resignation as artistic director of Donmar Warehouse theatre - has closed after just two weeks.
The American Beauty director blames the humiliating failure of his West End production FUDDY MEERS on warm weather, increased ticket prices and lower production costs.
British broadsheet THE TIMES says, "Fuddy Meers is a strenuously acted disappointment."
This is the sixth London production this year to close less than a month after opening despite featuring Hollywood actors like SCOOBY DOO star MATTHEW LILLARD.08/06/2004 13:41
