Mel Gibson To Launch Sitcom Inspired By His Family
Hollywood star Mel Gibson is working on a television sitcom inspired by his life as a father of six boys.
The Lethal Weapon actor is developing a pilot show - about a working-class single dad of five teenage boys - for the as-yet-untitled series for American network ABC.
The script is being written by real-life couple JULIE THACKER and THE SIMPSONS's MIKE SCULLY, who themselves have five girls.
Julie says, "Mike and I decided to do a comedy about five boys because we have five girls, and trust me, there's nothing funny about that."
Network president DAVID KISSINGER says, "Mel, Mike and Julie have come up with a hilarious show that portrays the rough-and-tumble and noisy truth about raising boys.
"It's a perfect fit with the smart, contemporary family sitcoms that are ABC's hallmark."
