McGraw, Paisley And Chesney Double Up At The Cmas
Tim Mcgraw, Brad Paisley and Kenny Chesney were the big winners at the 38th annual Country Music Association Awards in Nashville, Tennessee, last night (09NOV04), taking home two prizes apiece.
But there was a sour note for Chesney, who was cut off in the middle of his acceptance speech for Entertainer of The Year as time ran out at the event.
Chesney also claimed the Album of The Year honour for WHEN THE SUN GOES DOWN. McGraw's tribute to his late father, LIVE LIKE YOU WERE DYING, claimed Song and Single of The Year honours, and Paisley's WHISKEY LULLABY duet with Alison Krauss claimed Musical Event and Video of The Year awards.
There were emotional tributes to Ray Charles and Kris Kristofferson, who was inducted into the COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME during the ceremony, and newcomer Gretchen Wilson had two reasons to celebrate - she picked up the night's Horizon Award on her birthday GRACIE's birthday.
