McGillis Quits Hollywood To Help Young Addicts

Film veteran Kelly McGillis is stepping away from the limelight to pursue a college course in addiction studies - because she has personal experience with drug dependency and wants to help others.

The TOP GUN star refuses to elaborate on her addiction experiences, but says she is desperate to use her knowledge by helping troubled children.

She says, "I've just finished touring productions of The Graduate and Macbeth. I'm also going to college to do addiction studies. I hope to work with children who have addictions - that's my goal.

"I'm almost 50 and I'd like to give back in some way. Let's just say I have experience in it, that's all I'll say and I think I can help others by sharing my experience."
