McFly 'Still Scared' Of Daltrey
British boy band McFly are still terrified of The Who legend Roger Daltrey, despite becoming pals after re-recording his 1965 hit My Generation on Sunday (04SEP05).
The I'LL BE OK chart-toppers teamed up with the daunting rocker to launch British music store HMV's new music download website, and also to benefit the Teenage Cancer Trust, but they still feel like star-struck fans.
Guitarist Danny Jones remembers when Daltrey contacted him to organise the session: "I got a voicemail, and it was Roger Daltrey, I was like, 'Oh my God.' It was the most amazing day.
"I was almost too scared to ring him back. Even now I'm quite scared of calling him. I don't want to be a typical fan."
