Rock legend SIR PAUL McCARTNEY is still interested in modern music - his favourite bands are FRANZ FERDINAND and KAISER CHIEFS.

The former BEATLE praises the up-and-coming rockers for wowing audiences with their searing live performances.

He says, "I love bands that play live. Anyone who can get out there and kick butt like these guys do, I think they're great."
