McCartney And Starr Come Together For George
Surviving BEATLES SIR PAUL McCARTNEY and RINGO STARR attended the launch of a documentary about the tribute concert for late pal GEORGE HARRISON last night (8OCT03) - and paid emotional homage to him.
The LET IT BE legends joined Harrison's widow OLIVIA and son DHANI at the London premiere of A CONCERT FOR GEORGE HARRISON - a film about the historic gig performed in his honour last year (29NOV02) at the city's ROYAL ALBERT HALL.
The MY SWEET LORD musician died in 2001 after a battle with lung cancer.
Sir Paul told reporters, "Our feelings will never change for George - we loved the happy times and we're sad that George is gone.
"It's a great film, it was a great night and it was lovely to take part in it and to be here with all our friends. We loved him. He was a lovely man and all these friends came together on this very special night."
George's wife Olivia said, "This is a gathering of George's close friends and family so it's always going to be emotional.
"This concert pays tribute to someone we all loved. I think he'd enjoy it."
Fans will be able to see the documentary in British cinemas for a limited time and then on DVD after its 17 November (03) release.09/10/2003 09:06
